Wolcott, CT (December 4, 2020) – Around 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, December 3, a victim was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Wolcott.

According to police, the accident took place when two vehicles collided with each other at 250 County Road. Investigators found that a Honda and a pickup truck collided head-on after one of the vehicles crossed the center line.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the crash. One person was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. He has since been identified as 42-year-old Thomas Rivera. His passenger was extricated from the vehicle and taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was also injured and hospitalized, though his current condition is not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for several hours.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
