Avon, CT (December 16, 2020) – On Wednesday afternoon, December 16, a truck accident with injuries occurred at an Avon intersection.

According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of US-44 and Waterville Road. The crash took place for unknown reasons when an oil tanker and two passenger vehicles collided. The truck had extensive front-end damage while the vehicles had rear-end damage.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the crash to help those in need. One person, who has not yet been identified, was transported to Hartford Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The roadway was completely closed down at the intersection for some time as police worked to clear oil from the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation is currently ongoing.
