Southington, CT (February 1, 2021) – Around 8:24 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, a three-vehicle crash took place on a roadway in Southington.

According to police, the accident happened on Meriden Waterbury Road around the area of I-24 in the westbound lanes of traffic. Police confirmed that Andrew Katona was driving his Chevrolet Silverado traveling east. At the same time, Brian Jankowski was driving a Volkswagen Jetta in the area. Dennis Brewster was driving a tractor-trailer in the area when all three vehicles collided.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Katona and Jankowski were both seriously injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
