Greenwich, CT (February 5, 2021) – Around 9 p.m. on Thursday night, February 4, a four-vehicle accident took place on a highway in Greenwich.

According to Connecticut State Police, the accident happened on the Merritt Parkway. A vehicle was allegedly sitting disabled on the shoulder of the road while another was stopped adjacent to the vehicle so that the driver could help. The Good Samaritan who stopped to help got out of their vehicle was struck when two other vehicles collided in the area due to the other stopped vehicles.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were present at the scene of the crash. The Good Samaritan pedestrian, who has been identified as 45-year-old Bernard Jeanty, was taken to the hospital with a leg injury. They are expected to recover.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for a period of time until police cleared the scene.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
