New London, CT (March 3, 2021) – Around 9:44 p.m. on Tuesday night, March 2, a car crash with injuries occurred at an intersection in New London.

According to police, the accident took place at the Chelsea Groton Bank Building at the intersection of Bank Street and Montauk Avenue. Police confirmed that a pickup truck ran into the building, striking a steel column.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. Two of three people inside the vehicle were injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. Their injuries were deemed serious in nature.

The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
