Orange, CT (March 19, 2021) – Around 4 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, March 18, a car accident occurred at an intersection in Orange.
According to Orange Police, the accident happened when two vehicles collided at the intersection of Derby Avenue and Mapledale Road. Police confirmed that 38-year-old Andre Tinney was driving a Pontiac Bonneville and 26-year-old Samuel DeBerry was driving a Mazda 3 in the area. At the time, Tinney was exiting Mapledale making a left turn at the intersection. The two vehicles collided as they entered the intersection at the same time.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. Tinney was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, while DeBerry and the front passengers in both vehicles were hospitalized with minor injuries.
Police did not say if charges are expected but their investigation continues at this time.
