Meriden, CT – Cynthia Daigle Killed in Pedestrian Accident on N Broad St

Meriden, CT (April 12, 2021) – Around 11:10 p.m. on Friday night, April 9, a woman was killed in a pedestrian accident in Meriden.

According to police, the accident took place on North Broad Street next to the entrance for the State Fire Academy. It was alleged that a pedestrian was walking in the area when she was suddenly struck by a white box truck with the words “BUDGET” written on the side. The vehicle immediately fled the scene.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian was identified as 53-year-old Cynthia Diagle who suffered from a severe head injury. She was transported to Hartford Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
