According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Killingworth Turnpike and Glenwood Road when a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle collided with one another. It is believed that the two entered the intersection at the same time.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The motorcycle operator, who has not yet been formally identified, was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital by medical helicopter. Their condition is not yet known.
The intersection was blocked in the area for some time until police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
