Privacy Policy

Law Office of Michael L. Chambers, Jr.
Effective date: September 1, 2026
This policy explains what information this website collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language on purpose. If anything is unclear, call us at (860) 231-9535 or email michael@mchamberslaw.com.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you fill out a form on this site, we receive what you type: your name, phone number, email address, and anything you write about your situation. You choose what to include.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how you arrived here, and the date and time of your visit. This comes through our hosting provider and the analytics tools described below.

How we use it

To respond to your inquiry and evaluate whether we can help with your case.
To contact you by phone, text message, or email about your inquiry.
To understand how people use the site so we can improve it.
To meet our legal and professional obligations as a law firm.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Who else sees it

A few service providers handle data on our behalf so this site can work:

Webflow hosts the site and processes form submissions before they reach us.
Google provides analytics (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager), the maps on our location pages, the video on our home page (YouTube), and the fonts the site uses. Each of these can set cookies or receive technical information such as your IP address. Google's own privacy policy governs what Google does with it.
If you become a client, your information moves into the systems we use to manage cases, which are covered by the confidentiality that applies to every client file.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect our rights, our clients, or the public.

Confirm before launch: GA4 and GTM are not on the site yet (known open item). Intaker chat is still undecided; if it goes in, add one line: "Intaker provides the chat window on this site and receives what you type into it." If a CRM (Lead Docket) receives form submissions at launch, add it to the first bullet.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses them for analytics, meaning counts of visits, pages viewed, and how visitors found us. We use this to make the site more useful. We do not use cookies to show you ads on other websites.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work. Your browser may also offer a "Do Not Track" setting; this site does not currently respond to that signal, because there is no accepted standard for it.

Calls and text messages

If you give us a phone number, we may call or text you about your inquiry. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, or tell us on the phone and we will note it. We will not add you to marketing text lists.

Confidentiality and the attorney-client relationship

Sending us a message through this site does not make you a client, and it does not create an attorney-client relationship. That happens only after we have talked, checked for conflicts, and both agreed in writing that we represent you.

Until then, please keep what you send us general. Tell us what happened and how to reach you. Do not send documents, account numbers, or details you would consider confidential until we ask for them. We treat every inquiry with care, but information sent through a website form is not protected the same way a client file is.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Write to michael@mchamberslaw.com or the mailing address below. We will respond within a reasonable time. There are limits: we cannot delete information we are required to keep as part of a client file or by law, and we will tell you if that applies.

Children

This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we receive, including using a hosting provider that encrypts traffic to and from this site. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after that date means you accept the updated policy.
