Get medical care first, and follow every recommendation. Some injuries, especially head injuries, do not show fully for days.
Write down what happened while it is fresh: who was supervising, who saw it, what was said. Ask for the school's or daycare's incident report in writing.
Ask that any video be preserved. Playground, hallway, and bus cameras often overwrite footage within days.
