Meriden, CT (March 25, 2021) – Around 8:35 p.m. on Wednesday night, March 24, a woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Meriden.

State Police arrived at the scene of the accident, which took place in the westbound lanes of I-691 around the area of exit 8. Police confirmed that they found the woman lying in the road after being struck by a vehicle. The vehicle was not identified.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The area was blocked for some time until police cleared the roadway.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the collision continues.
