New Haven, CT (April 8, 2021) – Around 1 a.m. on Thursday morning, April 8, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred at an intersection in New Haven.

According to officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Ella T. Grasso Boulevard and Lamberton Street. A pedestrian was walking in the area when he was suddenly struck by a tow truck traveling through the intersection.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were present at the scene. The male pedestrian was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment of severe injuries but he was pronounced dead while there.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
