New Haven, CT (December 30, 2020) – Around 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening, December 29, a fatal pedestrian crash occurred on a roadway in New Haven.

Police confirmed that a 41-year-old woman was traveling on Ella T. Grasso Boulevard in her Jeep Liberty at the time. A pedestrian started to cross the street while the SUV was in the right lane.

The front of the vehicle collided with the pedestrian, who was transported to the hospital. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced deceased while there.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
