Waterbury, CT (March 24, 2021) – Around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, a man was killed in a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident in Waterbury.

According to police, the accident happened at 900 Meriden Road. When officers were initially dispatched to the scene, they found two pedestrians had been struck by a vehicle. The gold vehicle fled the scene of the crash.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were present at the scene. One of the pedestrians sustained minor injuries and the other pedestrian was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The second pedestrian, identified as 49-year-old Shane Dube, was pronounced dead while there.

Police have not yet found the driver responsible for the accident.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
