Ridgefield, CT (January 15, 2021) – Around 4 a.m. on Thursday morning, January 14, a man was killed in a fatal crash at a Ridgefield intersection.

According to the Ridgefield Police Department, the accident took place at the intersection of US-7 and Stonehenge Road when two vehicles collided head-on. Police did not comment on the exact circumstances of the crash but said that the vehicles involved were badly damaged.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident. Both drivers were trapped inside their vehicles and had to be extricated by fire crews.

A 20-year-old man from Waterbury, identified as Jose Miguel Guillen-Hernandez, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the other vehicle, identified as a 44-year-old woman from Ridgefield, was taken to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Police re-routed the roadway for some time due to the severity of the collision and how long it took to clear the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
