East Hartford, CT (June 7, 2021) – At 3:50 a.m. on the morning of Monday, June 7, a woman was killed in a fatal truck crash on a highway in East Hartford.

According to officials, the accident happened on I-84 around the area of exit 58. A woman was driving her Honda Civic behind a tractor-trailer when the Honda and the truck collided. The accident led to extensive damages to the Honda.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the Honda, identified as 38-year-old Iris Maldonado, was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
