East Hartford, CT (May 25, 2021) – At 9 p.m. on the night of Monday, May 25, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred at an intersection in East Hartford.

According to officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Roberts Street and Old Roberts Street. Two individuals got out of their vehicle and were struck by passenger vehicles traveling in the area.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The two pedestrians, identified as 21-year-old Bianka Romero and 22-year-old Marc Plaza, were pronounced dead at the scene due to their injuries.

The drivers involved in the accident remained at the scene to cooperate with the police.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
