Glastonbury, CT (January 5, 2021) – On Monday afternoon, January 4, a woman was killed in a fatal crash that took place in Glastonbury.
According to police, the accident took place on Route 2 when 58-year-old Marie Mathieu was parked on the shoulder of the highway. Her vehicle was suddenly struck from behind by another vehicle that did not see her.
The other driver who struck her was identified as 61-year-old Mark Herbst. He was not injured as a result of the accident.
Mathieu suffered from serious injuries and was immediately hospitalized. While there, she tragically passed away.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
