Hamden, CT (March 10, 2021) – Around 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday night, March 9, a man was killed in a house fire in Hamden.

According to police, the fire broke out in a home on Hill Street. When crews arrived at the scene, they found heavy fire in the home’s breezeway, as well as the garage. They are not sure about the circumstances that led to the fire.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene. One person inside the home at the time of the fire, identified as 59-year-old Frank Mangiero, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were able to escape the home and were taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

The investigation into the circumstances of the fire continues.
