Hartford, CT (May 4, 2021) – Around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, a pedestrian accident involving a child happened in Hartford.

According to police, the accident happened at a home on South Whitney Street. A 2-year-old child was walking at the home when they were struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene. The child was taken to the hospital for traumatic injuries but was pronounced dead while there.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
