Mansfield, CT (June 24, 2021) – Around 6 p.m. on the evening of Thursday, June 24, a teen was injured in a pedestrian accident in Mansfield.

According to Connecticut State Police, the accident happened on Storrs Road. A juvenile pedestrian was walking in the area when they were suddenly struck by a vehicle traveling in the area. It is believed that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The juvenile pedestrian was airlifted to a local hospital by medical helicopter due to severe injuries. Their condition and exact age are not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in the area for some time as police cleared the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
