Meriden, CT (March 2, 2021) – At 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, a pedestrian accident took place on a roadway in Meriden.

According to police, the accident happened at 700 Old Colony Road. A box truck was driving along on the roadway and ran off the side of the road where it struck three parked cars, a pole, a post, and a tree. During the collision, a woman who was walking in the area became trapped between a vehicle and a concrete wall for a few seconds.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene. The pedestrian was immediately taken to Hartford Hospital with serious injuries.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
