Stonington, CT (April 23, 2021) – At 12:29 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, April 22, a fatal crash occurred at an intersection in Stonington.

According to officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Coogan Boulevard and Jerry Browne Road. Two vehicles allegedly entered the intersection at the same time, which led to extensive damages.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately called to the scene. One of the drivers in a vehicle was identified as 52-year-old Michelle McMullen while the other was identified as a 19-year-old man from Mystic. They were both seriously injured and hospitalized. McMullen was pronounced dead while at the hospital.

Coogan Boulevard was blocked for several hours as police cleared the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
