Westport, CT (November 30, 2020) – Around 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, November 28, a serious pedestrian accident took place in Westport.

According to police, the accident took place in the northbound lanes of I-95. When police arrived at the scene, they found that two vehicles collided with one another and one person was trapped underneath one of the vehicles. They were extricated from underneath the vehicle by fire crews.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident. The injured victim, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. One of the drivers in one of the vehicles was also hospitalized.

Police believe that the pedestrian may have been struck after they were outside their vehicle checking on a mechanical issue.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
