New London, CT (April 20, 2021) – At 3:50 p.m. on the afternoon of Monday, April 19, a serious bicycle accident occurred at an intersection in New London.

Police confirmed that the accident happened at the intersection of Montauk Avenue and Willets Avenue. A sedan struck a bicyclist who was riding in the area. This led to extensive damages to the bicycle.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were present at the scene. The adult male bicyclist was the only person injured as a result of the crash. He was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The roadway was blocked in several lanes for an extended period of time after the collision.
