Litchfield, CT (June 18, 2021) – A car accident that occurred in Litchfield on Friday afternoon, June 18, left one man dead and another victim injured.

Authorities say that the victim, identified as 32-year-old Nicholas Donahue, of Thomaston, was driving northbound on Old Northfield Road in the Northfield section of Litchfield around 3:20 p.m. when the accident occurred. As he was driving, another car in a grass field attempted to enter the east side of Old Northfield, causing Donahue to lose control of his vehicle in an attempt to avoid a collision.

Police say that Donahue then crashed into the pavement and was ejected from his car. Paramedics were dispatched shortly after the incident occurred and attempted life-saving measures but pronounced Donahue deceased at the scene.

The other driver did not sustain serious injuries but was evaluated by EMS.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
