Columbia, CT (December 17, 2020) – Around 2:42 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, December 15, a multi-vehicle collision with injuries occurred in Columbia.

According to Connecticut State Police, the accident took place on Hop River Road (Route 6) when multiple vehicles collided due to reasons that are not entirely known. The accident led to extensive damage to the vehicles involved.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident to help those with injuries. One or more victims were injured as a result of the collision. The extent of their injuries is not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in multiple lanes for a period of time. Police urged those in the area to expect delays for some time.

No further details have been released. The investigation continues.
