East Hartford, CT (May 3, 2021) – Around 4:35 p.m. on the afternoon of Sunday, May 2, a serious tractor-trailer accident occurred on a major highway in East Hartford.

According to officials, the accident happened on I-84 around the area of exits 41 and 43. Three vehicles were traveling in the area when they became involved in a collision with one another, one of which was a tractor-trailer. The vehicles were left with severe damages as a result of the crash.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hospitalized with injuries but the parties are expected to be okay.

The right lane of traffic was closed in the area for a short period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
