Fairfield, CT (March 9, 2021) – On Tuesday morning, March 9, a tractor-trailer accident occurred on a highway in Fairfield.

According to the Fairfield Fire Department, the accident took place on I-95. It is believed that two tractor-trailers collided with one another for reasons that are not entirely known. The vehicles were left with extensive damages.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were present at the scene. The drivers of both tractor-trailers were taken to Bridgeport Hospital with traumatic injuries.

A total of 14 firefighters were present at the scene to deal with the fuel spill that resulted from the accident. Debris was scattered all over the roadway for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
