Franklin, CT (March 26, 2021) – Around 11 p.m. on Thursday night, March 25, a woman was killed in a head-on collision in Franklin.

According to Connecticut State Police, the accident happened on Route 32 around the area of Pleasure Hill Road. At the time, an ambulance was traveling north in the area while a Toyota Camry was traveling south. For reasons that are not yet known, the vehicles collided head-on with each other.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The driver of the Camry, who was identified as 49-year-old Dawn Brett, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger inside the ambulance were both injured and hospitalized. They are expected to recover.

The roadway was closed for several hours in the area for some time.

No further details have been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
