Southington, CT (January 5, 2021) – On Monday afternoon, January 4, a multi-vehicle accident with injuries occurred on a highway in Southington.

Police confirmed that the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-84 when several vehicles collided with each other due to reasons that are not fully known. Photographs taken at the scene showed vehicles all over the roadway with severe damages.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the collision to help those with injuries. A medical transport helicopter was also called to the scene. One or more victims were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time until police cleared the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
