Torrington, CT (May 11, 2021) – At 5 p.m. on Saturday evening, May 8, a two-vehicle collision occurred on a major roadway in Torrington.

According to police, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of CT-8 around the area of exits 45 and 44. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other, which led to extensive damages.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were present at the scene. Both drivers of the vehicles involved were injured. One victim was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital and the other was taken to Waterbury Hospital. They are expected to make full recoveries.

The roadway was blocked in several lanes until police cleared the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
