Wolcott, CT (January 8, 2021) – On Thursday night, January 7, injuries were reported in a two-car accident on a major highway in Wolcott.

Police confirmed that the accident took place on CT-69 in the area of the Wolcott Lanes Bowling Alley. One vehicle was traveling south when it crossed over the center line, crashing into the other vehicle nearly head-on.

Due to the severity of the accident, both vehicles were left with extensive damages. One of the drivers had to be extricated from their vehicle by fire crews. Both drivers suffered from serious injuries and were hospitalized.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
